Bet that got your attention!
Today was Jordan's play date with some of his new classmates, only 4 kids showed up, including Jordan and the little boy who planned the play date.
He got to meet two little boy's and one girl. Two of the boys he met at Meet the Teacher night, they all played and got along great. I got to meet the parents and it was nice to have parents whose children are starting kinder also. We were able to answer each other's questions about information we missed the other night and share all of our worries about them starting school!
It was a nice start to the beginning of school and I can't wait for Monday!
After the play date, Kelvin, Aliyah, Jordan, Tjuana and I went to the Arizona Museum of Natural History. The kids had a blast and we did too!
There was so much to see there and it was very interesting because everything at the museum relates to Arizona and the Southwest from from the beginning, 4.5 billion years ago to right now. Most of the dinosaur fossils were found right in Southeast Tucson!
We saw everything from Dinosaurs, feathered and not, minerals, meteorites, mines, how the Hohokam Indian's lived, real territorial jails, extinct sea creatures and......Poop! The kids and Tjuana, even got to pan handle for gold.
I would be here all night going into details about everything we saw but Jordan's favorite thing was the roaring T-Rex, Aliyah and Tjuana's favorite was panning for gold , Kelvin's favorite's were the crystals, fossils and the Southwest gallery. My favorite and the main reason we went to the museum was the P.S.I. exhibit. For some reason I though it would be the boy's favorite but surprisingly it was mine!
PSI: Poop Scene Investigation
It has many names: scat, droppings, feces, dung, stool, road apples, number two, pellets, caca, and manure but poop is poop any way you say it. Explore poop’s fascinating journey – from its beginnings to the variety of ways both animals and humans use it.
Visit the museum and become a Poop Scene Investigator (PSI) and figure out which animal did the odoriferous deed.- AzMNH's website!
See the slide show for pictures of our visit!

Whoo Hoo
Well compared to yesterday.....today must have been like Disneyland for Jordan!
We had a play date today with Jen and her two boys, Tristen and Braden.
First we went to Pump It Up for open recess and the boys had a blast. If today was any indication, Jordan's party is going to be a BLAST! The best part is that parents can jump in the bouncers with the kids. Jen and I went down this obstacle course bouncer with a very high slide, a few times with the boys, what a rush! We slid down so fast that Jen and I both have owies!
Then it was off to McDonald's for lunch and more fun at the play place. We stayed there for a while until the boys got tired and Jen headed home. By this time Jordan was done but I promised him he could go to the "water jumpers"! So Jordan and I were off to the Desert Breeze Splash Park....After about 30 minutes of playing in the water he was ready to head home. He napped for about 3 hours...
The boys got along great, everyone had fun and there were no meltdowns....all in all it was a successful day!

The Best Summer Ever.............
Yesterday was Jordan's last day of Kids Club Summer Camp, he had four AWESOME teachers! Ms Bea and Ms. Judy in the morning and Ms Heather and Ms. Jessie in the afternoon. I honestly feel that compared to his pre-school, these last two months at Kids Club prepared Jordan much better for Kindergarten. Kids Club had the best in class field trips ,art projects, class projects and here's a concept they actually followed the lesson plan!!!
As we sat down Thursday to write out Thank You cards to attach to his teachers gifts, I asked him what, "What was your favorite thing about Ms. ___?" Every single sentence started out with "I Love Her because...." .... she gives me hugs, she's nice to me even when I'm mean, she smiles at me, she plays cars with me and she read my favorite book all the time.
Jordan knew all the kids and all the teachers and everyone knew Jordan! Mind you, Jordan was in the 3's/4's class and they are kept separate from the bigger kids, so how he knew all these people beats me. But knew him they did and they love him as much as he loves them. I'm simply amazed at Jordan's ability to give and receive love. He knows how to make everyone feel special and loved, it's as if he knows that some people just need that!
Sometimes you can get so caught up in making sure that your child is behaving, eating, learning, speaking correctly.....you get so focused on what they're not doing, that you lose sight of what they are doing and just how special they are!
Yesterday as I watched Jordan go around collecting hugs and saying bye to everyone I got that reminder of how special Jordan is. I was so glad that he was blessed to spend his summer with people who truly loved and cared about even when he wasn't on his best behavior!
Kids Club gave us the Best Summer Ever and I can't wait for Kindergarten........
